Travel Information

Cornwall is a county in the UK, located on the far south-west peninsula, approximately 300 miles from London.

Participating schools will be responsible for organising and funding their own insurance and transport arrangements to and from West Cornwall; arriving by air to Newquay Airport or by train from London to Truro Railway Station.

Suggested Routes to Truro Railway Station

  • Fly to London Heathrow Airport. Then take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington. From here take the train to Truro Railway Station.  Train times can be found here.  Cheaper train tickets can often be booked in advance here.
  • Fly to London Gatwick Airport. Then take the train to Truro Railway Station. Train times can be found here.  Cheaper train tickets can often be booked in advance here.

Suggested Routes to Newquay Airport

It is unlikely that you will find a direct flight to Newquay from outside the UK.  Instead, you need to transfer from London HeathrowLondon Stanstead Airport or other UK gateways to London Gatwick via shuttle services and fly from London Gatwick to Newquay Airport.

An alternative is to fly to Bristol International Airport with KLM via Amsterdam. Then take a train from Bristol Temple Meads to Truro via First Great Western.
