In 1890 their great-great-grandmother started making Cornish clotted cream in her farmhouse kitchen here in the heart of Cornwall. It was an immediate hit with the locals and before long she was ‘exporting’ it all the way to England, where top London food shops couldn’t get enough of this sumptuous Cornish delicacy. Over 120 years on, they are still crafting it the same way, by gently baking rich local cream until it’s thick, unctuous and thoroughly dollopable. Which is why it’s been awarded Protected Designation of Origin status, along with the likes of champagne and Parma ham. And it doesn’t end there. They also use the uniquely rich Cornish milk to make a whole range of indulgent things, from butter, to crème fraîche.

Zenergi is delighted to support the International Student Science Fair being held at Camborne in July. The highly complex electricity and gas markets that we operate within means science plays a BIG part in our everyday lives, and indeed some of the consumption reports we produce for School Business Managers around the country are frequently used in school science lessons.

We are delighted to be associated with such a fantastic event for the prospective young scientists of the future.

Kevan Walsh
Managing Director

While educators are busy preparing our children for the future, bursars and finance managers are busy making sure classrooms are warm and that economically viable power is flowing into the computers. Buying electricity and gas has become a big, and complicated, part of what you do. There has to be continuity of supply, contingency plans have to be developed and proved, billing has to be straightforward and predictable – it all has to work as you want it to work, day in, day out. Yet, in today’s new and complex energy markets, getting it right seems to take more time and effort than ever before. Delegating responsibility to the local authority can bring more problems than it solves. Zenergi are here to take the effort and stress out of dealing with your energy needs by giving you a single point of contact and a practical source of answers and solutions.

TRAC is a pharmaceutical consultancy based in Pool, not a traditional location for this type of organisation.  TRAC was set up by Sarah and Jonathan Trethowan in 2001 and has grown to be both a successful and well respected company within its industry.

Both Sarah and Jonathan actively support the local community and are committed to promoting science-based careers in Cornwall and developing a sustainable knowledge-based economy.

Many of TRAC’s consultants are local science graduates who have developed their career following an internal training programming, having previously had little or no experience of the industry they work within.  They are now professionals in their own right and taking on managerial roles within the company.

TRAC’s consultants are also STEM ambassadors working with local schools to encourage students to pursue STEM subjects and careers.  By collaborating with schools in this way and sponsoring the ISSF, TRAC hopes to help nurture innovation and encourage a future generation of successful local scientists and entrepreneurs.

Henry Orchard & Sons

Henry Orchard and Sons is Cornwall’s leading independent scrap processing merchant and is based at Methrose Works in St Austell. Established in 1947, our family business has spanned three generations, and continues to provide our customers with the best metal reclamation and recycling solutions with excellent returns.
We have a strong history of progressive environmental management and corporate social responsibility and pride ourselves on providing the best and most cost effective solutions for our customers’ scrap processing requirements. We can meet the needs of households, small businesses and large organisations alike, providing a wide range of services, including a collection service by our fleet of vehicles.

Henry Orchard and Sons is committed to meeting environmental standards within the metal reclamation industry, and this commitment drives every area of our business. The company continues to advance methods in which scrap metal and other waste products can be processed to extract the maximum yield of materials that can then be re-used and recycled. This minimises waste products going to landfill and lessens the impact on the environment.

Henry Orchard and Sons has held the internationally recognised ISO 9001 certificate since 1995, ISO 14001 since 1997 and gained the OSHAS ISO 18001 in 2010. We offer extremely good services at competitive prices with excellent customer care.

We are also committed to our local community – being a 3rd generation family business, we are firmly rooted in the community. We work with local schools and community groups to spread the word about recycling and support other local businesses to help them improve their environmental performance.
